Electrify the whole car park and make it pay

If you run a car park, EV charging is no longer optional. Customers ask for it, competitors offer it and regulation is pushing. The question is not whether to electrify, but how many spaces, and how to make it pay.

The trouble is that with conventional technology the answer is usually “a few”. Every space needs power and data run to it, site costs climb, and the return only works for the highest-turnover spaces. The rest go without.

What an owner needs

  • Low cost per space, so that electrifying a high share of the car park is viable.
  • High availability, because a faulty point is a space that does not bill and a customer who leaves.
  • Control over energy cost and contracted capacity, to set competitive tariffs with a margin.
  • Room to grow without redoing the site work as demand rises.

What Wallare brings

Cost per space. Wallare cuts cost per electrified space by 35% and installation material and time by 50%, thanks to its single-board design and a wireless mesh that removes data cabling. For every 100 spaces the budget used to cover, you can now electrify around 150.

A new revenue line. Every point meters to MID class B, valid for billing. You can sell energy at a margin, with tariffs set by business rules: by time, by subscriber, by customer type.

Capacity under control. The gateway shares contracted capacity across all connected cars in real time, based on each one’s departure time. No need to upgrade the grid connection to electrify more spaces, and charging shifts to off-peak hours.

Availability. A faulty space is back in service within 24 hours. Your staff swap the unit with 4 screws; we repair the faulty one in our workshop. Diagnostics and OTA updates, integrated with your maintenance system.

Scale by configuration. Start with the spaces that have demand and expand by adding points: existing ones act as a bridge to new levels or remote areas, with no communications cabling.

The best user experience. Plug & Charge (ISO 15118-2): the customer plugs in and charges, no card or app.

An investment that will not go out of date. AFIR requires ISO 15118-20 on all new points from 1 January 2027, private installations included. Wallare is already ready for it, including the bidirectional V2G charging we present on 3 November (What AFIR requires).

The proof

Wallare runs in Barcelona’s municipal car parks: 150 points in service on Endolla Barcelona, the most demanding environment for availability and vandalism (The B:SM case).

Start with the numbers

Before you decide, run the numbers on your own data: spaces, contracted capacity, occupancy and tariff. We will prepare a total cost and return simulation for your car park.

Request your simulation or meet us on the Tomorrow.Mobility stand, 3–5 November.
