The SHP Shore Power Converter provides a permanent 3-phase supply to the yacht switchboard, converting the power provided by the shore worldwide with high reliability, robustness and precision.
The SHP converter features a 50 Hz transformer, allowing for bypassing the converter when the shore ratings are compatible with the onboard electrical system, thereby extending the equipment’s lifespan.
As an option, the power electronics can be reconfigured to provide a DC input from a battery and provide a silent mode to the yacht.

The SHP Shore Power Converter offers a dual, seamless transfer to reach bypass mode, which disables the converter electronics, allowing the ship to be fed directly from the shore cord through the 50 Hz transformer.
Thanks to this mode, the power electronics are only used when there is an actual need to drift the frequency or the voltage from the shore to the ship.
After the seamless transfer from the genset to the converter, the control system compares the shore voltage/frequency with that on the ship. If a match is found, it performs a second seamless transfer from the converter to the shore, bypassing the power electronics.
This mode can be used in most of the ports around Europe.
The converter offers, as an option, the so-called silent mode, specially designed for when the ship is anchored. With this mode, the ship is powered by an onboard battery bank for a certain period, allowing the gensets to be turned off.
With this functionality, passengers can enjoy swimming and other recreational activities on the deck, surrounded by the sea and nature, with no noise, vibrations, or oil smells.
Once the ship resumes sailing, the converter will transfer power to the gensets and restore the energy used during silent mode.
